Furthermore, people of lower education seem to be getting news at a greater rate than ever before (Bialik). It is not the fact that these people are getting news at an improved rate, but rather how they are perceiving this news. Potential shooters with mental illnesses, or potential shooters of lower education may not be able to render the idea that mass violence is not the most reasonable way to deal with life issues that evoke anger. This sounds silly and extreme, but in reality, those who are of lower education or mental illness can struggle to grasp critical thinking concepts, even concepts as large as this one (McGinty).
